With all this use and overuse of our feet, it’s no wonder that many running-related injuries involve the feet. Such incidents increase when the feet aren’t properly inspected or cared for. Whether it’s foot pain, a sudden injury, or a painful blister, anyone these complications can stop you from running or performing if you suffer from them.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a therapeutic technique that can play part in your wellness journey and in pain management therapy. The Reflexologist applies pressure to specific areas of the feet, and this may stimulate the nerve endings in these areas. This can help with sleep, ease tension, improve digestion, improve immune function, and promote healthy blood flow throughout the body. In addition to offering stress reduction and promoting relaxation, the soft-tissue manipulation techniques used in reflexology can help with foot and ankle pain relief. Whether you are a professional athlete or just want to be at the top of your game, regular reflexology appointments can help you get to your health and well-being.

BioFlex Laser Therapy (Cold Laser Therapy)

Bioflex Laser Therapy uses red and infrared light to penetrate deep into the body’s tissues in order to stimulate a healing response at a cellular level. Light therapy lasers trigger a cascade of physiological reactions within the body’s cell enhancing the body’s immune system. The therapeutic responses that have been observed with Bioflex Laser Therapy are: increased oxygenated blood to the injured site, tissue healing, collagen production, repair of damaged muscle fibers, activation of cells leading to muscle regeneration, reducing edema, nerve regeneration, and improved cartilage production and joint function. With such ability to promote natural healing, Bioflex Laser Therapy is a non-invasive modality to use for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, wound healing, and neuromuscular conditions. Total number sessions are usually determined during the initial consultation.

Myofascial Release Massage Therapy

Myofascial release therapy is a technique often used to treat myofascial pain and discomfort. Myofascial disorders are caused by tightness and stiffness in the myofascial tissues which surround and support the muscles in the body. In combination with massage therapy, myofascial release therapy focuses on reducing pain by easing the tension and tightness felt in certain areas of the body. This will also help with increasing range of motion to the affected areas and preventing injuries. During a myofascial release massage therapy, the massage therapist (RMT) will gently massage and stretch the myofascial that feels stiff and rigid. The RMT uses a light manual pressure to release the tension to the affected muscles.  Myofascial release can help with relieving pain, improving flexibility, promoting recovery, and increasing relaxation and well-being.

Custom Orthotic Therapy

Custom orthotics are orthopedic devices that are designed to align the foot and ankle into a corrective and optimal position. Custom orthotic therapy can help minimize the unwanted effects of a wide range of biomechanical foot issues, including problems with how you stand, walk, or run. They correctly align the body to allow athletes to be able to participate in their sport and perhaps help prevent further injury.

Custom orthotics are shoe inserts that are specially designed to help you with your balance, mobility, gait, and pressure redistribution throughout the foot and ankle. Overall, custom orthotics can be used to help with pain management, as well as help prevent further complications such as stress and strains on the body which can lead to injuries. We offer thorough assessments and a gait scan analysis to see if custom orthotics are right for you.
