What Does Our Clinic Training Offer?

You’ve completed the theory. Now it’s time to actually practice. Most foot care programs compress clinical training into 2–3 rushed days, leaving nurses under-prepared and under-confident. Foot care is not learned in a weekend! Our programs build clinical competence and professional confidence. Clinical skills are built through repetition and real patient experience.     Meet Nurse Sarab

    Sarab Dormani is a Registered Nurse and entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in healthcare. As the founder of her own independent practice specializing in the wellness industry, Sarab has developed expertise in advanced foot care, compression therapy, laser treatments, and medical aesthetics.

    Sarab began her career in critical care, working as an ER nurse, where she excelled in trauma, resuscitation, and triage. Her dedication and skills led her to serve as a charge nurse and care facilitator. Seeking a better work-life balance after an injury, she transitioned to her current specializations, where she continues to make significant contributions to the field.

    Sarab is a passionate advocate for continuous learning and professional development, holding numerous certifications, including Advanced Nursing Foot Care, Cosmetic Dermatology Course / Laser Trainings, Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Combined Decongestive Therapy from the Dr. Vodder International Academy, and much more. She is committed to providing exceptional care and empowering her clients to achieve optimal health and well-being. Beyond her clinical work, Sarab is a sought-after speaker and presenter, having delivered numerous webinars and seminars. She shares her expertise at industry conferences and events, inspiring fellow professionals and members of her community with her knowledge and insights.

    4 day – Clinical Foot Care Training

    Who This Is For

    You’ve completed your foot care theory. Now it’s time for real clinical training! Our Clinical Training program is designed for nurses seeking hands-on, supervised foot care experience in a real clinic setting, without rushed or superficial training. All of our training opportunities are private and one-on-one sessions. Start at your own terms and grow at your own pace.

    Ideal for:

    • RNs and RPNs who have completed foot care theory (mandatory)

    • Nurses seeking additional clinical exposure

    • Nurses adding foot care to private practice, home care, or clinic work

    This is a clinical / practicum training only. No theory is provided. To apply for this program, you must first complete a recognized Foot Care Nurse Theory Program

    What You’ll Experience

    Day 1 – Shadowing

    • Observe full foot care appointments

    • Learn assessments, infection control, charting, and clinic flow

    • Experience real-world clinical decision making

    Days 2–4 – Supervised Hands-On Training

    • Perform foot care on real patients

    • Nail and skin care, assessments, and education

    • Continuous supervision and feedback

    • Exposure to high-risk and complex foot care

    • Build confidence, efficiency, and clinical judgment

      Location: Ottawa at Natural Skin and Sole Wellness – Free Parking on site

      Includes:

        • 1 shadowing day

        • 3 supervised clinical training days

        • 30 min follow up session – virtual call

      Clinical Shadowing

      Are you a foot care professional looking for a unique opportunity to shadow and observe clinical practices in our busy and fast pasted clinic? Our Clinical Shadowing Sessions are a valuable experience for any aspiring professionals interested in learning more about advancing their knowledge in the field of foot care.

      Nurse Sarab sees over 100 patients/ month. During this session, you have the unique opportunity to observe various procedures, her unique approach to certain conditions, how she conducts consultations, patient interactions, case studies, and our clinic’s operations on a day-to-day basis. Our shadowing clinicals also offer an educational opportunity where you will learn common foot conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures. We promise that you will have a wonderful learning experience!

      1 Full Day – $425

      2 Full Days bundle – $750 (save $100)

      *Note: this is a hands-on clinical. You are requested to arrive in a professional attire and adhere to our facility’s rules. The shadowing clinical does not include a certificate of completion.

      One-on-One Day

      If you completed a foot care course or have been practicing for quite some time, but you feel like you need a bit more hands-on experience and guidance, this clinical session is for you. You’ll have full access to our treatment room, with Nurse Sarab guiding you personally through hands-on skill development as your mentor.

      Here are what our advanced skills workshop can consist of:

      • Scalpel technique (corns, callouses and cracked heels)
      • Using different nippers / burrs for different nails
      • Ingrown/ involuted toenail care
      • Basic wound care
      • Diabetic foot care management
      • Toenail fungal care
      • Instrument reprocessing
      • Laser treatments (warts, fungus, veins, skin conditions, etc.)

      Learn new techniques, strengthen your skills, and build confidence in your practice. This fully customizable day is designed around your learning goals.

      $750 / day

      A Business Story… Like No Other!

      With a passion for holistic health and wellness, Sarab Dormani co-founded and opened Natural Skin & Sole Wellness Clinic, Ottawa’s first multidisciplinary wellness center owned and operated by a Registered Nurse. Despite setting the opening date for March 23, 2020, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted all plans. Navigating a new business through a pandemic was challenging. Networking opportunities were canceled, the entire staff quit, there was no client base, furnitures & supplies were delayed, and marketing strategies failed. With no government financial aid available for new businesses, Sarab faced numerous setbacks. When the clinic finally opened in June 2020, it was just Sarab and her partner, facing uncertain times.

      Today, Sarab has built the clinic from the ground up. Natural Skin & Sole Wellness Centre offers a wide range of health, wellness, and beauty services, with a team of over 10 dedicated practitioners. The clinic features state-of-the-art technology and a whole-patient care approach. They have formed unique partnerships with top industry brands and aesthetic companies. Through this journey, Sarab recognized the lack of support, guidance, and mentorship for healthcare professionals. That’s why we offer an advanced mentorship program designed to give you:

      By enrolling in our Clinical Training and Advanced Foot Care Mentorship Program, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

      Deposit & Payment:

      • 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration to secure your spot.
      • The remaining balance must be paid in full before the start of the program.

      Eligibility Requirements:

      • Participants must be a licensed nurse (RN or RPN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
      • A valid CNO registration number must be provided upon registration.
      • All participants must have professional liability insurance specific to foot care. Proof of coverage must be submitted before the start of the program.

      Providing Models for Training:

      • Participants may be responsible for providing their own models for the hands-on practice.
      • If you are unable to secure models, please inform us in advance, and we will assist where possible. However, securing a model remains the participant’s responsibility.

      Cancellation & Refund Policy:

      • Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred to a future session at our discretion.
      • Cancellations made within 14 days of the start date are non-refundable.
      • Any missed sessions may not be rescheduled, and refunds will not be provided for missed sessions.

      Code of Conduct:

      • Participants must conduct themselves professionally and respectfully during the program.
      • Failure to adhere to professional standards may result in dismissal from the program without a refund.
