Custom Orthotics in ottawa
Custom orthotics are orthopedic devices that are designed to align the foot and ankle into a corrective and optimal position. They look like insoles, but because they are a biomechanical medical appliance that are custom-made to your feet, they help re-align the foot by correcting certain imbalances. Just like glasses work on your eyes, custom orthotics work on your feet to reduce stress and unnecessary strain on your entire body. Custom orthotics fit into your shoes as comfortably as insoles and are personalized from the precise imprints of your feet.
How can we help?
At Natural Skin & Sole Wellness Clinic, we understand that custom-made orthotics are not a small purchase, and that is why we offer custom-made appointments. We offer an initial assessment with our Doctor of Chiropractic which includes a full biomechanical exam, gait scan, analysis and diagnosis. Once the assessment is completed, our Chiropractor will determine which orthotic is right for you based on your everyday lifestyle and treatment goals. Our Chiropractor will then proceed in doing a foam casting of your feet. The casting imprints are then sent to the lab to create your personalized orthotics. Once your custom orthotics are received, you are booked for a fitting appointment. We will also provide you with a full health insurance package to facilitate your claim.
Who needs custom orthotics?
Custom orthotics can help alleviate pain and fatigue from the feet to the spine. Improper biomechanics when standing, moving, and walking can affect our everyday tasks. In order to remain pain free, our body requires a solid base. While our feet are the foundation of our body, certain conditions such as high arches, joint stiffness and loss of metatarsal padding can affect our entire stance and movement. Problems with our body’s foundation can quickly translate into problems with our muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons and bones.
